Version one of the RDMRose learning materials now available
The JISC funded project RDMRose, a collaboration between the university libraries of Leeds, Sheffield and York, and the Sheffield iSchool has been developing learning materials about Research Data Management tailored for information professionals as an Open Educational Resource (OER).
The learning materials have been designed for use as self-supported CPD as well as in taught class room sessions.
Version one of the RDMRose learning materials are now available.
You might want to try our self-assessment questionnaire "Are you RDM Ready?" This prompts you to rate your own knowledge and also the priority you give to different RDM related activities. It then directs you to the parts of the learning materials that are most useful to you.
The project welcomes comments and feedback.

RDM in libraries survey
You are invited to take part in a survey on library roles in research data
management: https://survey.shef.ac.uk/ limesurvey/index.php?sid= 41119&lang=en
The survey has been designed to give the community a clear picture of the extent to which libraries are currently involved in research data management (RDM) work, and the extent to which they regard different aspects of RDM to be strategic priorities for the next three years.
As you will know, this issue touches directly on one of RLUK's strategic priorities and so we are keen to track progress in this area. The survey has been tested already on some of RLUK colleagues who have kindly provided very useful feedback that has enabled us to refine the questions. So we hope now that the questionnaire corresponds well to the key issues as you see them. We believe that the results will be of direct interest to colleagues in UK HE libraries and that we can use the data as a benchmark to measure developments in future. We are hoping all of this will mean that we get a good response.

Poster at JISC MRD Workshop
On 24-25 October the RDMRose project presented a poster at
the JISC MRD Programme Workshop in Nottingham. It was a good opportunity to
discuss the progress that JISC MRD projects had made and the challenges they
faced.
Our poster described the aims of our project and the
intended learning outcomes of the curriculum that we are designing. More
importantly, it also listed the potential RDM roles that librarians could take
on, and how these are aligned with their existing roles.
The poster also had an interactive aspect. The workshop
participants were encouraged to vote which of these potential RDM roles the
Library should prioritize. People were asked to put a blue dot next to all RDM
roles they would like to see prioritised. The results are on the photo below.
